Wait - are you in California? I don't think there was a Democratic primary in a lot of the races (I may be looking even stupider now) -- but I'm pretty sure that there was only a Republican primary because the Dems already have their candidates (a lot of them are incumbants, i.e. Boxer)

I don't know... I do know that I got a Republican ballot so that I could have some say on the election, like Serendipite. I didn't have to register Rep to do it.

the hub and his entire family are all republicans to the core. it makes gatherings sometimes incredibly uncomfortable for me, but i just sit in the corner and stuff my face. i'm registered as "independent" and just vote according to what makes sense to me.

I am actually a registered Republican. I did that on purpose so I could vote against the biggest Republican A-holes and try to keep them from getting to the main election. Once I get to the Big Show, it's Democrat (and sometimes even more liberal) all the way. I also was able to vote for Tom. Too bad it didn't make a difference.
