Epic FAIL

I bought the Nikon D40 about a month ago, after wanting it and then deciding I didn't want it and then wanting it again over the course of several months.

Even though Amazon had some good packages, I didn't want the camera bag that came in the packages, so I decided to just buy the Nikon D40 6.1MP Digital SLR Camera Kit with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens, memory card and camera bag separately.

My camera and camera bag came on the same day.

My memory card never arrived.

So sat my camera for several weeks, collecting dust.

I've been insanely busy at work and finally a few days ago sat down and emailed the company that I bought the memory card from. They blamed the post office for not delivering it, however, they had never sent me an email saying it had shipped or given me any sort of tracking number.

Giving up on them, Mr. FGD dragged me to Best Buy over the weekend to buy a memory card.

That night, we both tried using the memory card in the camera, and we ended up with error messages and some sort of faulty memory card. Even our photographer friend says it sounds like the memory card is fucked up.

Goddammit.

How long am I going to have an expensive camera that I can't use?

Fuck me, dudes.

Hugs. At least now you have a good reason why it isn't in use. It seems I need to leave the time zone before my D40 gets any action.

I was gonna write something about making sure that the problem is the card and not the camera, but then I read Wan's comment . . . o.m.g.

I had a bogus memory card once...I only found out after I'd taken 20 or 30 pics around christmas time!...I called the company and they ended up being a 'mob client, and were right around the corner from work! They replaced my card. and I was happy :)
