The Road to Thirty Continues

Our first full day in Carmel, we did the 17-mile drive, and stopped at the beach at Spanish Bay to get out and play.

In retrospect, that hour or two we stopped at Spanish Bay was some of the happiest I have ever seen my furbitches.

Spammy never stopped grinning.

And quickly befriended every dog that came along.

She ran until she tired,

and then she ran a little more.

She forced strangers to rub her belly and scratch her ass, and even tried to lick their baby's faces.

It was a beautiful day,

while sister FGD was on the lookout for pirates.

Mini FGD loved looking down on her people,

and we didn't leave without a few shots of the family.

I couldn't have chosen a better way to spend my actual birthday,

especially with my three favorite bitches there.

Eventually, we left Spanish Bay and continued along the 17 miles,

all of us enjoying the fresh air and sunny weather.

Then it was off to Monterey for lunch and wandering around.

(I tragically do not have a photo of Mr. FGD nearly doing a face plant in my post-lunch Ghiradelli ice cream sundae. Someone had food coma.)

Then it was back to Bluebird Cottage, our home away from home (Carmel doesn't really have anything W-esque, much to my dismay).

Someone was feeling a little mischievous

and absolutely thrilled to discover the place didn't have a low lying platform bed.

It was such a happy day.

Turning 30 is great!

My brother used to live in Monterey, so the mention of 17-Mile drive brings back a lot of memories.

Your furbitches slay me with their love of the beach. So adorable!
