That first picture is so sad.

I like to think of it as, at least 48% of Californians are not inherently evil.

Hi everyone! I really appreciate the support from compassionate and fair-minded people like you.

As I marched yesterday, and sat in the center of Wilshire and Santa Monica, I considered what it means to be part of a civil rights movement. I'm mostly white, mostly upper middle class, mostly a guy. Who knew I'd be called to speak out for fairness and civil rights?

It was amazing to participate in yesterday's rally down Wilshire. The pictures don't tell the whole story: As we marched, we thanked the officers who protected us and the people who honked their horns. It was the most polite and POWERFUL way to present our message.

Put the CIVIL in civil rights. Isn't THAT a concept? I wish the yes-on-8 folks had been as fair.

i really love hearing sable crow's first hand account of the protest. i've had to defend them to a few folks -- that the vast majority of the protestors are peaceful, not violent.

i really hope these actions help lead to change.

I love that one of my students was there.

after watching the news, it's a shame that the media decided to publicize the worst parts of what looks like (from these pictures) a mostly peaceful, nonviolent demonstration.
